"Ironically, the site integrates a Grok AI chatbot (from xAI) for answering nutrition questions, and reports indicate Grok sometimes provides responses that contradict or qualify parts of the site's own guidelines (e.g., noting concerns about evidence quality for certain emphases or that most Americans already get sufficient protein)."
Overall it was pretty positive about the site. Then I asked it, "Is HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a trustworthy source of nutrition info?" It responded with some positive things, but was happy to call out his bullshit as well, and concluded:
"In summary, RFK Jr. is a mixed bag as a nutrition source: authoritative by virtue of his position, with some valid points on processed foods that resonate with experts, but his lack of specialized expertise, history of misinformation, and controversial guideline changes make him unreliable for many in the scientific community. For personalized nutrition advice, it's best to cross-reference with sources like registered dietitians, peer-reviewed studies, or organizations such as the American Heart Association, rather than relying solely on any single figure or policy."
I wonder if they know what it "thinks" about him.
Since there is no integration, results have nothing to do with the content of realfood.gov, and often contradict it. For example, you can ask "how much protein should I eat per day" and get a wildly different answer, since Grok is citing NIH and WHO recommendations.
what's the messaging here?
I tried reading more, but I was worried the bias was so bad, it was going to infect my brain with lies.
I don't even like Elon, but they are really warming you up before you read the article. (Disclaimer: I'm $200 Tesla Bear ETF)

I had ChatGPT tell me I was imagining an HR problem related to the women.
Grok got them right. My executive team got them right.
I'm not defending Elon, but after those 2 chatGPT failings due to moral coating, I unsubscribed and got Claude.
America is the greatest country on Earth. And the sickest. Highly processed food has hollowed out our health, driving obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and early death. The truth is simple: real food restores health.

For decades we've been misled by guidance that prioritized highly processed food, and are now facing rates of unprecedented chronic disease.
Real Food can
solve this crisis.
For the first time, official U.S. guidance calls on Americans to avoid highly processed food. This is not an attack on industry or a legal definition. It reflects a public health reality families live with every day.
Protein, Dairy, & Healthy Fats
Vegetables & Fruits
Whole Grains

We are ending the war on protein. Every meal must prioritize high-quality, nutrient-dense protein from both animal and plant sources, paired with healthy fats from whole foods such as eggs, seafood, meats, full-fat dairy, nuts, seeds, olives, and avocados.
Protein target: 1.2–1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day

Vegetables and fruits are essential to real food nutrition. Eat a wide variety of whole, colorful, nutrient-dense vegetables and fruits in their original form, prioritizing freshness and minimal processing.
Vegetables: 3 servings per day.
Fruits: 2 servings per day.

Whole grains are encouraged. Refined carbohydrates are not. Prioritize fiber-rich whole grains and significantly reduce the consumption of highly processed, refined carbohydrates that displace real nourishment.
Target: 2–4 servings per day.

Better health begins on your plate—not in your medicine cabinet. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025-2030 put real, whole, nutrient-dense foods back where they belong: at the center of health.
